ICANN has recently approved the introduction of several new top level domains (nTLDs) into the domain name system. Depending on your website goals, these new TLDs may provide you an option to get a more descriptive (or unique) domain name.

The new TLDs include .bank, .restaurant, .music, with more on the way. As soon as ICANN starts to release official communication we will know more about what to expect with respect to acquiring the new TLDs. Currently, the registry application process for new TLDs will begin in January, 2012. So, start planning for these TLDs to make sure you get your best domain name.
